• On light wings from the megacities – Armand Bentzen recieves move 2030 award

  UID Transportation Design student Armand Bentzen is the winner of the international automotive design competition mo>e 2030, with the visionary project Into the Wild, created in collaboration with KISKA at UID last semester.
• UID ranked 2 by red dot
  2012-05-07  
  Umeå Institute of Design (UID) is ranked 2 in the prestigious red dot design ranking for design concept 2011. This ranking recognizes UID as one of the top universities in the Americas and Europe to continuously and progressively produce cutting edge and forward thinking projects.
• UID master students win iF concept awards 2012
  2012-04-18  
  From more than 10.566 valid entries submitted by design students from all over the world, only 100 projects received an iF concept award 2012. Two of these were awarded to Masters students at Umeå Institute of Design (UID): Simon Fredriksson and Gosha Galitsky, Dogan Sekercioglu, all students at the Masters programme of Advanced Product Design (APD) and Carol Tang from UIDs Interaction Design programme.
• We also do taps – in cooperation with Ostnor and FM Mattsson

  The 11 students from 9 countries at the MA programme in Advanced Product Design at UID have designed water taps in cooperation with Swedish tap manufacturers FM Mattsson and Ostnor.
• Little easter witches payed a visit
  2012-04-05  
  We were lucky to have visitors from the preschool Uven yesterday. The adorable little easter witches offered delicious candy to students and staff before they took off for The Brocken (Blåkulla). Thank you, and welcome back next year!
