Students from the Master&s Programme in Spatial Planning and Development attended a course called Behaviour and Aesthetics in Planning with Linda Bogren. Friday, January 15th they presented their project, which was to plan a yet uninhabited area, called Rävarumpan. The focus was on certain target groups, for instance a family with small children, or a family from another country who, only a short time ago moved to Sweden.
The aim of the course was for the students to acquire the methodology and process of design, which they will be able to apply on their planning skills.
During one week, the course participants worked together with the students from Advanced Design Visualisation to visualize their plans of the new area.
The course also contained a role-play introduction with actors from Profilteatern, a theatre that started up in Umeå in 1984. The actors Jan Karlsson and Lina Hognert told the students the significance of timing, and also the importance of cooperation and the ability to listen. Furthermore, the actors informed the students about not hesitating and furthermore to keep others in the dark about their potential slip-ups.
The motive for the role-play introduction was to help the students with strategies to feel confident in different situations in their professional life.
