The goal in this collaboration project was to investigate how
cars could trigger a greater engagement from young drivers and
passengers in the future. Young consumers will certainly have new
and different expectations towards personal mobility. Students had
to propose concepts that represented their sensible and educated
opinion about how cars should be perceived in the future.
The expected outcome included proposals for conceptual vehicle
exterior and the visualisation of usage scenarios and envisioned
surroundings (mood, people, buildings, etc). UID students welcomed
input and inspiration from their peers from Reutlingen. Our focus
was on exterior design but because of the collaborative nature of
this project, students supported each other in the development of
the interior and exterior themes, package definition and important
reference points in the vehicle architecture. Harmony and
consistency between interior and exterior design concepts were
expected.
